Charitable Trust

 

        Who are we?

 

 

The Lake Rotoiti Charitable Trust, created by a Deed of Trust dated 16th October 2006, is incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 and is registered as a charitable entity under the Charities Act 2005. (Registration number: CC10282)

        What are our aims?

 

 

The purposes and aims of the Trust are contained in the Deed of Trust and include:

bullet To promote recreational and community-based activites based in and around Lake Rotoiti for the residents of Lake Rotoiti and the general public;
bullet To foster a community spirit within the Lake Rotoiti area and its surrounds; and
bullet To encourage the preservation of the special character of Lake Rotoiti as a natural environment and historically significant area of New Zealand.

        Who are the Trustees?

 

 

The "Lake Rotoiti Scenic Reserve Board", the "Lake Rotoiti Community Association Inc.", the "The Bay of Plenty Trailer Yacht Squadron Inc.", and the "Lake Rotoiti Classic & Wooden Boat Association Inc." may each appoint Trustees for a term not exceeding 4 years and no Trustee can serve more than 2 terms continuously. The present Trustees are:

        What do we do?

 

 

The Trust will make funds available for charitable projects in and around Lake Rotoiti and elsewhere as income from donations, subsidies, grants, gifts, legacies, bequests, koha and investments permit. These projects may include (but are not limited to) financial assistance for the establishment and maintenance of picnic areas, eco-toilets, picnic tables, BBQ's, walking tracks, environmental projects etc. for the benefit of all.
